Nick Hudetz

Nick Hudetz was Overman's original drummer. He played with the band from 2004 to 2006. His first show was at Lizard's Lounge in Bloomington, IL in April 2004, his last at the Elbo Room in December 2006.

March 27, 1999 started out as any other for our fair Adonis. He woke up, naked in a cornfield, and hurried off to Blake Abrahamson's house, for he knew Blake was having a "Jungle Juice" party. This is where things get a little hazy. The Jungle Juice was flowing when Hudetz relieved himself behind an Apple tree in Abrahamson's yard. It is unclear what happened next, but multiple witnesses recall hearing Hudetz angrily ask the tree, "You think you can take me?" After not getting the answer he was hoping for, Hudetz headbutted the tree, knocking down 4 apples in the process, and muttered a few words as he stumbled back to the garage.

In the early days, Overman routiely practiced in the basement of the Hudetz manner in Plainfield. In 2004, the band practiced in a conference room at Solar Communications, Nick's dad's company in Aurora. It wasn't all that bad, though the warehouse did reak of chemicals. Then, someone left a few beer cans there and they couldn't practice there anymore.
