Lizard S Lounge

Lizards Lounge was a bar in Bloomington, Illinois, located at 612 N. Main Street. In 2004, they changed the name to Paulies, but remained under the same ownership. This was the site of Overman's first full band show on April ??, 2003. An ominous start for the band, Aaron broke a guitar string on the first note of Stadium View Number One the band's first song.

Lizard's Lounge first appeared on Overman's radar during a party at the infamous LaCrosse House, across the street from Brian Scholtes' even more infamous house, on Linden Street at Illinois State University. In the spring of 2000, local band BadCat played in front of a capacity crowd in the LaCrosse House garage; Aaron and Matt were front and center for the bands last few songs. Still infatuated with college, drunk, stoned and mezmorized by the big saxophone in the little garage, the future Overmen made sure to rap with the band after their set and grab a CD. One of the two discs Aaron and Matt took back to VB4 was "Live at Lizards," BadCat's recording of their May 7th, 1999 show at the Bloomington club. At the time, it seemed like the coolest place to play in the world, an ideal, if not fantasy like, venue for Overman's first gig.
